Comment on Bill O’Riely’s “shock” and “surprise.”?
Bill O’Reilly went to lunch with Al Sharpton at Sylvia’s Restaurant in Harlem and was surprised to find that the famed soul food eatery was just like any other restaurant in the city, this despite the fact that it’s run by African Americans.
I “couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia’s restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it’s run by blacks, primarily black patronship. It was the same,” O’Reilly said on September 19 edition of his nationally syndicated radio program.
Later during his conversation with NPR correspondent and Fox News contributor Juan Williams, O’Reilly noted “There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who was screaming, ‘M-Fer, I want more iced tea.’ You know, I mean, everybody was—it was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense of people were sitting there, and they were ordering and having fun. O’Reilly is an idiot. How did he think his comments would be taken? Besides , he always blames some other party for misrepresenting his words. Typical right winger- he’s never wrong and somebody else is always to blame.
